Booth Pics from Florida Sheep and Wool 2014

Just wanted to share some pics of the Twin Mommy Creations booth from last weekend at the Florida Sheep and Wool Festival 2014...

There were over 1700 people that attended this year... and I got to meet so many amazing and wonderful people. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Doug Meyers and the Florida Meat Sheep Alliance for allowing me to vend at their event... I would have never got to experience it, had I not happened to meet Doug's son, Aaron, last year in Homeland :)

So many people stopped by the booth and just wanted to meet me... they had read this blog and wanted to say "Hi"... let me tell you, it is beyond special to me when someone just comes up and feels like they already know you, because they have read what you were writing... so a gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who came by the say "Hello" :)

And since I know that most of you could not make it to the Festival... because lets face it, we all have jobs, bills, etc. that do not always permit us to do what we want, lol... I wanted to make it possible for you to see all the bright colors and fun from last weekend... and I hope to one day get to meet you all :)

Center of the booth

Rack of Handspun in back... Rack of Batts, Camel, and Project Bags in Front

Racks of Fiber and Yarn... with Rolags in Front :)

And the Stitch Marker / Art Yarn Accent Tower :)

I sure hope if you made it, you had a wonderful time... I know that for me, it was an unbelievable event... and I even ran into an "old friend" that I haven't seen in over 10 years :)

Seriously... 2 more days!!!

I am officially freaking out... I didn't go to sleep til 5am... then had to get up for work at 7am... not good :(

My brain just wont shut off at night... well ever... so whenever something pops into my head, I feel like I have to do it... NOW!!!

Well, last night was no different... and I decided that since there were going to be spinning workshops this weekend at the Sheep and Wool Festival... I needed to have Orifice Hooks.

What is an Orifice Hook you might ask??? It is a tool to get the yarn or leader out of the orifice of your spinning wheel... basically it is a necessity... and you cant have just one (well I cant anyways, lol).

So, here are just some of the "experiments":

Only a few so far :)

The Hook

This one is my favorite so far :)

Its an "angry" cat or something, lol

Well, that's all I have for now... I don't think I will be sleeping too much tonight either... just way too much to get done :)

3 More Days... Florida Sheep and Wool

ONLY 3 MORE DAYS!!!

Can you believe it??? In just 3 days, I will be driving to Ocala, FL to set up for the Florida Sheep and Wool Festival... everything is moving so quickly... and I am freaking out!!!

The worst part is that I can't keep my brain focused... Every time I turn around, Im writing down some new idea... man do I need to stop that :)

I brought my button and stitch marker display to the fiber guild meeting last weekend for feedback... and everyone seemed to really like it... so that made me feel so much better.

Here is what I have been (slowly) working on :

Hand Dyed - Single Spun - 100% Silk Yarn

More Silk Yarn Drying

Hand Dyed Silk Noil

Domestic 56s Roving

And lastly... these have been in my mind for a little bit... but finally I have put them in motion :)

Polymer Clay Covered Felting Needles...

There is also a sort of  "special" packaging for the felting needles, that way they will not be damaged in transit or once they are in their new homes :)

Hope to see some of you this weekend...

Getting Ready... Florida Sheep and Wool 2014

The Florida Sheep and Wool Festival is next weekend... I can not even believe that it's so close... and I feel so far behind... ahhh!!!

Not only will I be vending... but I will be teaching a few dyeing classes as well. This is the first time I have ever been to the Sheep and Wool Festival... but I am super excited about getting the chance to attend... and to be a vendor on top of it.. what a blessing :)

As always, I feel like I don't have enough stuff for people to choose from... so I have been coming up with so many other things to bring... this is one of them, lol.

Stitch Markers... I am actually loving most of them... and I have to tell myself that I don't need that many sets of markers :)

Butterflies

Dragonflies

I call these "Quilts"

Drops... these ones remind me of the Earth from a satellites view

Close Up

Leaves

Leaves again :)

Close Up... This is my favorite!!!

This is just a taste of what is available... I have been devoting a lot of time to making them... and I am digging the new packaging :)

The "tree" is still pretty bare... but it will be full by
April 25th :)

Pack It On Challenge - March 2014 - FINISHED!!!

I am super behind with getting pictures and obviously posting anything... I did get the Pack In On Challenge complete by March 31st though.

These are the first pictures that have been taken of the finished yarn... and I have to admit that I absolutely love how it turned out...

The outcome is 230 yards of Fingering to DK Weight yarn... that is actually very soft and huggable :)

All Skeined Up!!!

I love the little bits of yellow :)

Close Up...

As some of you may know... I am going to be vending the Florida Sheep and Wool Festival next weekend, April 25th - 27th... I have been trying to keep my head above water and just get done what I can.. but there are so many ideas fighting for attention on my brain, lol...

I will try and post daily updates of what I have finished and will be bringing to the festival starting tomorrow... be on the look out and I hope to see some of you there :)
